September 25, 2016 in Dax's 100 TED Talks
Yuknavitch shares a wonderful story of her countless 'screw ups' and 'failures' during her life from coming from a violent and broken home to washing out of university 3 times to problems with drink to being homeless to the heart-breaking sadness of losing her newborn child, yet reflects on how each and every heartache created the unusual and beautiful person that she became.
So much to take from this talk but much of it can be summarised with this statement:
"Even at the moment of your failure, you are beautiful, you don't know it yet, but you have the ability to reinvent yourself endlessly. That's your beauty."
If you've ever felt like a mistfit, failure or fuckup or if you need a reminder that 'this too shall pass' then this presentation is definitiely for you.
Enjoy!
