Success Has Four Dimensions.

Fun. Freedom. Fulfilment. Financial Success. Money matters. It just isn’t the only thing that matters.

What It Means

I don’t measure success with one number.

Revenue matters.

Of course it does.

But a business can make a lot of money and still create a life you don’t actually want to live.

So I use four measures.

Do I actually enjoy enough of what I’m doing?

Does this give me meaningful control over my time, location and choices?

Does the work matter to me? Do I feel that something worthwhile happens because I do it?

Does it create enough money to support the life I actually want?

The mistake is maximising one while quietly bankrupting the others.

You can make more money while losing freedom.

Build more freedom while creating work that bores you senseless.

Find meaningful work that leaves you permanently skint.

Or create something that looks successful from the outside while privately wondering when you’re supposed to start enjoying any of it.

I’m not interested in pretending those trade-offs don’t exist.

Sometimes they do.

There are seasons where one F temporarily gets more attention than another.

But TEMPORARY sacrifice is very different from accidentally designing permanent sacrifice into the architecture.

That’s why the 4Fs aren’t just a scorecard.

They’re a design constraint.

When I make decisions about business, money, opportunities, growth or lifestyle, I’m asking what happens across ALL four.

Because getting rich in one dimension while going bankrupt in the others isn’t my definition of success.
